Jacquinot x Embark

We're delighted to welcome this stunning JACQUiNOT x EMBARK chestnut gelding to the HCR stable.

A strong, well-balanced individual with plenty of quality, he immediately caught our attention and we just had to get involved and make sure this boy dons the Green and Black for his career.

After visiting the Griffiths Racing facilities last month, Dale was incredibly impressed by the professionalism and quality of the entire operation — and equally taken by his presence in the barn.

We really liked what Jacquinot brought to the racetrack and we're seeing plenty of those same qualities in this gelding.   Both BOBS and VOBIS eligible, an outstanding training environment, and an athlete who looks every bit the proper racehorse, it presents another exciting opportunity for the HCR ownership network to Dream Big and have a genuine tilt at some of Victoria’s feature races.

PEDIGREE

Sire - JACQUINOT -  An elite racehorse with a devastating turn of foot, winning five of his 12 starts and more than $2.4 million in prizemoney. His victories included two of Australia’s major Group 1 races, the Golden Rose and C.F. Orr Stakes, while he also finished third in the Group 1 Blue Diamond as a two-year-old.

A son of Rubick from a Pierro mare, Jacquinot combined speed, toughness and genuine Group 1 ability. In his two Group 1 victories he defeated the likes of In Secret, Fireburn, She’s Extreme, I’m Thunderstruck and Mr Brightside.

His first crop has already created plenty of interest with trainers and we’re excited to have a quality athlete by one of Australia’s most exciting young stallions.

Dam - EMBARK contributes a pedigree rich in speed and durability, producing a colt that presents as an ideal prospect to develop into a progressive three-year-old and beyond.

Trainer - Robbie Griffiths Racing

Group 1-winning trainer Robbie Griffiths Racing runs one of Victoria’s most respected racing operations. Based at Cranbourne, the stable combines decades of experience in Australian racing with a modern approach to training.

Renowned for developing young horses and getting the best from their runners, the team has built a strong reputation for consistent results across metropolitan and feature racing.

Strength, Attitude and Plenty of Presence

From the outset, the feedback from the breaker was positive, describing him as an impressive, strong gelding with a great shoulder and powerful hindquarter. He’s also shown plenty of intelligence and personality. He can be cheeky and likes to have a play, but importantly, he listens and does what is asked of him.

His movement has also impressed. The breaker noted that he has a sharper, more compact action rather than a big, extravagant stride and was particularly pleased with how he felt under saddle. At this early stage he was described simply as “ticking all the boxes” and labeled him, “a cracker”.

With his breaking-in now complete, he has arrived at Cranbourne to begin his first preparation with Robbie Griffiths. The early impression there has been just as positive. He’s a strong, deep-girthed colt with a powerful backend and plenty of presence.

Everything we’ve seen and heard through his breaking-in and early days at the stable gives us plenty to look forward to.

BOBS & VOBIS Eligable

This gelding has the added advantage of being eligible for both the Victorian VOBIS Silver and NSW BOBS bonus schemes, opening up valuable additional prizemoney opportunities across two of Australia’s major racing jurisdictions.

VOBIS offers $20,000 in bonuses across eligible metropolitan and country races in Victoria for 2YO, 3YO and 4YO horses, with owners receiving $9,100 of the bonus for a win. There is also no limit to the number of VOBIS bonuses an eligible horse can earn.

In NSW, BOBS provides further earning opportunities throughout his 2YO and 3YO  seasons. Eligible wins can attract owner bonuses ranging from $4,000 through to $16,000 at TAB meetings depending on the prizemoney level, with bonuses also available at country meetings.

For owners, it means this colt isn't restricted to one state-based incentive scheme. Robbie has the flexibility to place him in either Victoria or NSW and target the bonus opportunities that best suit him as his racing career develops.
